GOOD MORNING,

ON BEHALF OF THE NATIONAL BAR ASSOCIATION, THE NATION’S OLDEST AND LARGEST BAR ASSOCIATION OF ATTORNEYS OF COLOR, WHICH WAS FOUNDED IN 1925, I AM HONORED TO BRING YOU REMARKS.

FOR THE LAST 88 YEARS, THE NATIONAL BAR ASSOCIATION, HAS ALWAYS STOOD ITS GROUND FOR JUSTICE AND CONTINUES TO DO SO BY USING OUR LEGAL SKILLS TO HELP DISMANTLE SEPARATE AND UNEQUAL LAWS ACROSS THIS COUNTRY. WE ARE SOCIAL ENGINEERS.

WE MUST CONTINUE TO STAND OUR GROUND BY PROTECTING VOTING AND CIVIL RIGHTS LIKE THE RECENT CASE IN ALABAMA,-- FORD V. ATTY GENERAL LUTHER STRANGE; BY PROTECTING EQUAL PAY AND EQUAL ACCESS TO JUSTICE, AND ALL OF OUR RIGHTS UNDER THE CONSTITUTION.

THE NATIONAL BAR ASSOCIATION ALSO SUPPORTS THE TRAYVON MARTIN FOUNDATION TO AMEND UNJUST VIGILANTE LAWS. MUCH PROGRESS HAS BEEN MADE SINCE THE LAST MARCH 50 YEARS AG0, BUT MUCH WORK REMAINS TO BE DONE-- AND NOW ALL OF THE LEGAL GAINS THAT HAVE BEEN MADE ARE UNDER ATTACK.

WE CAN’T STOP OUR PROGRESS, WE CAN’T GO BACK– WE WON’T GO BACK.

THE NATIONAL BAR ASSOCIATION WILLSTAND OUR GROUND FOR JUSTICE!!! WE WILL NOT BE MOVED!

THANK YOU.
